The Gargunnock News ….

…is our local magazine, run on a voluntary basis, currently under the umbrella of the Gargunnock Trust. It is a quality production comprising 28-36 glossy pages with up to half of them in full colour. It is self-financing through its cover price and advertising revenue.

 It features articles on news, views, history and data relating to the village and the surrounding area.  It is published three times per annum in February, June and September/October (depending on Editor’s holidays) with submission deadlines of mid-January/May/September.  Estimated readership is c800+ at home, further afield and overseas.  Many readers archive their copies for future reference thus ensuring additional exposure for advertisements)

The first edition was published in the winter of 2002/3 and by autumn 2005 it had won the accolade of Community Magazine of the Year plus several lesser awards for content in competitions run by Stirling Council.

It aims to spread information about current events in the area, about differing views on local matters, about the achievements of local residents, about village organisations and about the history of the place and its people, all in an informative and entertaining manner.

Gargunnock is a good place to live or work in, to raise a family in or to retire to. It is full of worthy people from a variety backgrounds many with hidden talents just waiting to be discovered.

In so doing the magazines’ intention is to reinforce positive beliefs, values and attitudes and to highlight the true spirit of achievement and community, which lies not far below the surface.
