You’re never too young to start …With the character of the village changing as new houses are built and new folk move in, traditional village institutions can often be overlooked as old fashioned, and perhaps not relevant to today’s modern pace of life. But its worth sparing the ‘Rural’ (Gargunnock WRI) a second glance. Once a month, ladies of all ages, backgrounds and outlooks enjoy the opportunity to go down a gear or two, to enjoy home grown entertainment, delicious home baking, and the friendship of others. Let me set the record straight. To attend a meeting:-
Gargunnock Rural meets on the third Tuesday of every month, often with outings and competitions away in between. We meet at the Community Centre Main Hall at 7.30pm. The meetings generally start with a short talk or entertainment, and end with tea (and home baking) and a raffle. Each evening there are two competitions for members to enter – sometimes baking or handicrafts but perhaps also something as simple as your favourite thimble, picture or tea cup. If you need further convincing, contact our President Janette Wilson for further details or our honorary secretary. Click on our Calendar to see what is in store for 2006/7
