Playgroup & Toddlers

Welcome to Gargunnock Playgroup and Toddlers!

Playgroup :

We are a small independant village Playgroup. We meet twice a week on Mondays and Thrusdays from 9 until 11.30am. Our sessions take place at Gargunnock Community Centre and are intended for children aged 2 ½ to 5. Playgroup employs 2 play leaders (one post currently vacant) who are responsible for the day to day running of the service. Staff hold enhanced disclosure certificates.

Each session combines free play, a structured expressive arts activity, snack, discussion time, songs and stories. We have a large garden area which we use whenever possible. We have joined the Eco-schools project and hope to develop our garden through this project.

We run a themed Play Diary for the year to encourage diversity of activity and to introduce new areas of enquiry. Themes for session 2007/8 include All about Me, Music and Dancing, Autumn on the Farm, Space, Transport and The World in which we Live.

Our Playgroup is a member of the SPPA and we are regulated by the Care Commission Scotland and Scottish Social Services Council.

Toddlers :

Our Toddler group meet twice a week and is attended by pre-school children and their parents/carers.

A voluntary committee manages both groups. A fee is charged for each session.

We welcome new members at any time. Please contact a member of the committee or our . Alternatively, you can call on our Playgroup phone (07840 363253) which is switched on during Playgroup hours only, please leave a message at other times.
