Minutes - Jan 2006

Gargunnock Community Trust Ltd

Meeting held on 10th January 2006

Present:  Douglas Coupethwaite, John Craigen, Edmond Mansion, Mike Fitches, Iain Gulland, Leona Paget, Mike Pizey, David Lonsdale.

Apologies: Kate McAlister, Jane Bain, Geoff Peart.

Minutes of Last Meeting: There is an error on the last minutes which needs to be corrected. Under ‘Election of Directors’ the name Mike Fitches should read Mike Pizey and with that correction the minutes were accepted as true. Proposed by Debbie Farquhar and seconded by Edmond Mansion.

GVDIA: It was agreed that in order to make a Community Trust project out of the pavilion we would first have to ask the office bearers of the GVDIA to relinquish control over it (and any other projects they were dealing with). This has been successfully negotiated although until we see the paperwork we do not know if any conveyance work/ lease signing will be necessary.

Directors Meeting: At present, the Articles of Association show that the Trust can have a maximum of 10 directors which we now realise is insufficient; we also need to appoint a convenor and a meetings secretary. In order to deal with these issues a directors meeting will be held on Tuesday 24th Jan at 8.00 pm in the village pub.

Trust Memberships: More members are needed as this gives us a bigger voice and also helps to attract larger funding packages. John McLaren will include an article in the Gargunnock News and a flier is to be organised. At present the flier is to go into the magazine as a loose sheet and will include a membership form. In addition, the fliers will be delivered on a door to door basis throughout the parish. Jane Hunter has agreed to help John with this.

We had already agreed that we could attract new members by demonstrating what we can do and the painting of the footbridge was seen as a good starter. The bridge has now been pressure- washed and is about 90% ready for painting. Volunteers will meet on Sunday 15th and Sunday 22nd at 1.00pm.

It was also suggested that directors could canvass their own immediate neighbours with a view to signing them up.

AOCB:  The aluminium can collecting is to continue but since the Provost Park project no longer needs the money proceeds will go to the Community Trust.

The meeting closed at 8.45pm.

The next meeting will be held on Tuesday February 14th in the Community Centre.
