Gargunnock ?
Gargunnock village is situated 35 miles North East of Glasgow, 40 miles North West of Edinburgh and 6 miles West of Stirling. The village has existed since before 1296 when the well known Scot William Wallace is noted to have stormed the ‘Peel of Gargunnock’ (a small fort run by the English). The village has a primary school with around 100 pupils. A church, a shop, a pub / restaraunt and a number of small local businesses. The village is also surrounded by a strong farming community
Background information to the Site
The Gargunnock .com website was original kicked off through a Community Futures concept. The site went live Sept 1999 and has been updated on a regular basis since by Douglas and Jane Bain.
